New Year’s Eve 2019 in SoCal
December 27, 2018
Looking for an exciting place to spend New Year’s Eve? From The Vue apartments, there are plenty of options well within reach, all across the sunny and beautiful landscape of Southern California. From cruises to parties and beyond, New Year’s Eve in LA is going to be phenomenal, and we’ve assembled a list of some of the most persuasive options right here for you to review. Prepare yourself for the NYE celebration of a lifetime, courtesy of these amazing SoCal establishments.
The Best of the New Year’s Eve Best
There are more NYE parties and celebrations going down than you can shake a stick at, so much so that we couldn’t possibly list every option here. What we can do, however, is provide a “best of” sampling that gives you a good idea of everything that’s going down December 31st, after which you can decide what kind of party appeals to you most.
The Most Happening 20s NYE Cruise
Event presenters VIP Nightlife insist that the “only way to catch the true spirit of Southern California is to embark on the Speakeasy Cruise,” and we might be inclined to agree with them on this one. There’s magic to be found out on those California waters, and embarking on a New Year’s Eve cruise with an over-the-top Roaring 20s theme is a great way to discover it for yourself.
The Speakeasy Fireworks Cruise will put you in the company of about 200 revelers as you sail the seas on the Catalina Duchess Yacht. While you and your friends party, you’ll hear the tunes, courtesy of the ship’s DJ, and get to enjoy one of several fully stocked bars to further fuel your night of fun. If you’re looking to go out on the water for New Year’s few other options will be as thrilling as this one.
New Year’s Eve by the Beach
Now let’s say you want your NYE festivities to be close to the water, but not actually on the water itself. You’ll find yourself welcome at the Santa Monica iteration of the famous New Year’s Eve Pub Crawl, where you’ll be able to enjoy amazing deals on beers, cocktails, and champagne as you prepare for midnight to strike. Once you have your ticket, you’ll just need to check in at the Circle Bar on Main Street between 6:00PM and 10:00PM to get things started.
How About NYE in the Park?
While Grand Park might not strike you as a dominant New Year’s Eve location at first glance, the truth is this expansive city venue was created with such festivities well in mind. Grand Park, in conjunction with the music center, will be hosting a massive countdown to 2019 featuring live music, food, dancing, and camaraderie with your fellow Angelenos. It all starts at 8:00PM on December 31st, and will last until 1:00AM on January 1st. The musical lineup will showcase Aloe Blacc and Maya Jupiter, featuring Irka Mateo, Georgia Anne Muldrow, and the Grand Scheme, while the all-female DJ lineup will highlight fan favorites like Ericalandia, Kronika, and Spiñorita.
A Rooftop New Year’s Eve
Rooftop parties are always a fun time, and as you likely know Los Angeles has more than its fair share of rooftops. If you prefer the Hollywood setting, you’ll definitely want to check out NYElectric at the W Hollywood Rooftop Hotel. This is the 6th annual iteration of their rooftop extravaganza, and by now they’ve got the formula down to a science. There will be a 4-hour premium open bar, 3 DJs with 2 music areas for grooving and moving. Capping off the night will be the epic NYE countdown, and all the while you’ll get to soak in the most fabulous views of the city as seen from stunning Hollywood. Alternatively, you can sit indoors while you’re enjoying the fun here, there’s room aplenty no matter what your preference is, and it’ll be great either way.
For a slightly different rooftop view, however, you might instead want to head to the Skybar at the Mondrian Hotel on the Sunset Strip, hands down one of the cities most exciting nightlife venues. The Skybar is promising “nonstop revelry” as they bring in 2019, with a 3-hour open bar, live DJ music and vivacious dancing taking center stage all night. As is typical of NYE events, there will be a countdown to midnight and complimentary champagne toast once the New Year arrives, and you can make the night that much more special should you choose to indulge in the VIP experience, netting yourself reserved seating at one of the establishments swankiest tables, along with bottle service and other so-called “deluxe amenities.”
Have Yourself an “Adults Only” Kind of New Year’s Eve
Perhaps you’ve already heard of Adults Only, the eccentric, movie-focused bar with the secret entrance on Sunset Boulevard? Even if you haven’t NYE will be a perfect chance to check them out, as the celebration will be one fit for the ages. There’s going to be a massive, 5-hour open bar and, naturally, booming DJ music along with plenty of dancing. As you enjoy the aesthetic of the antique decor, classic film posters, and classy, velvet-red curtains, you’ll countdown to midnight in a setting that’s uniquely intimate, wholly seductive, and perfect for ringing in the New Year. It’s 21 and over only, so be sure to have that ID on hand and prepare for a truly “adults only” experience!
